A specially-abled man's wife was allegedly attempted to be raped in the Baganchra area of Shantipur police station on Nadia district. The victim and her family are currently facing constant threats after filing a complaint against the accused at the local police station.
The victim and her husband were returning home from the market in the evening when the accused grabbed her face and took her to his house, where he attempted to rape her. The victim was also beaten up for obstructing the accused.
Residents rushed to the victim's screams and the accused absconded after threatening to kill the victim. However, despite the victim filing a written complaint at Shantipur police station, the police reportedly have not arrested anyone yet. The victim and her family are now living in fear for their lives and have been forced to leave their home.
